Avatar And Jujutsu Kaisen Are On Their Way To Fortnite

Two of the biggest hits from Hollywood and anime are about to make their way into Fortnite and rumours are that it’s going to be one of the most epic crossover events in history! With two monumental events on the horizon, we are back covering everything that you’d need to know about what’s going down on Fortnite. For those who are confused, we aren’t referring to Avatar: The Last Airbender, but to James Cameron’s Avatar. Without further delay let's hop into the details of what’s new and trending in Fortnite.

What is Avatar?

If you aren’t already aware of Avatar, let’s take a quiet sneak peek into this multi-billion dollar title that has remained relevant for over two decades despite releasing only two movies. Avatar is a space/Sci-Fi film series directed by James Cameron. The story is based on humans expanding their dominion in space as Earth fails due to a lack of resources. Pandora is the home to the blue aliens featured in Avatar, and the land holds enough resources to sustain humans.

While humans are attempting to forcefully excavate mines and strip the land of its resources, the Na’Vi attempt to fight back. While they are primitive in nature, the Na’Vi are highly intelligent and advanced in their own ways. When the outcome of a global war in favor of the humans looks certain, a lone human falls in love with a Na’Vi warrior. This unexpected event shifts the tides for the natives of the lush extraterrestrial land as they launch a brutal retaliation to drive back the humans!

When is Avatar Arriving on Fortnite?

While the exact date is still shrouded in mystery, we are sure that the Avatar collaboration will be arriving before Season 2. January 31st marked the final update for Chapter 6 Season 1 and therefore we believe the update with the crossover will arrive before 21st February, which is the scheduled date for Chapter 6 Season 2.

But, leakers are often quite ahead of the curve, and with 20 days remaining there’s a chance that the cosmetics could arrive sooner than expected. Therefore, it’s important to stay vigilant on what’s in rotation within the shop.

What Will the Crossover Event Bring to Fortnite?

According to HYPEX and a few other leakers from the Fortnite community, the Avatar collaboration is sure to include Jake’s and Neytiri’s banshees. Since banshees aren’t obviously a thing in Fortnite, we believe they will be available as cosmetics for the gliders. But, it won’t be an event if two gliders are the only things being introduced, therefore, both Jake Sully and Neytiri are certain to have in-game skins being designed for them.

The Avatar event is a part of the Fortnite x Disney collaboration that has been going on for a while. So, we are safe to assume that Disney will be prioritizing showing Avatar in a favorable light to a whole new fanbase. Especially since both Avatar films were highly successful, grossing over 1 billion USD in sales and much more through streams.

Jujutsu Kaisen: What’s It All About?

Before we move on to the next main event, let’s take a moment to familiarize everyone with what Jujutsu Kaisen is and why it’s so such a big deal! Jujutsu Kaisen is a highly popular manga series written and illustrated by Gege Akutami. After racking up millions in sales selling copies of his manga, the series finally got its own anime series. The Dark Shonen series was picked up by the ever popular Japanese studio MAPPA and now holds the Guinness record for the most in-demand animated show.

Jujutsu Kaisen features a high school student who joins a highly secretive band of Jujustu Sorcerers who fight against the evils of sorcery. The story follows the lives of the different members of the organization. Some heavy weights that Fortnite players are already familiar with are Gojo, Itadori, and Megumi from the first crossover event.

What’s New in the Second Crossover?

We aren’t sure of the exact details as leakers are still doing their research but our sources have confirmed that Sukuna will arrive in Fornite with the new Jujutsu Kaisen skinset. This information was also revealed by Shiina, a well-respected Fortnite leaker within the community.

We expect Maki Zenin and Yuta to be included in the newly rumored skinsets because these are characters that fans have been begging Fortnite to be included if they do revisit the collab. After all, the main focus of these events is to provide players with content they like else the sales are sure to plummet for the event.
